Todd Cirillo

Title Song

Ever since the very beginning,

she was there.

She is responsible for my love of love

and my obsession with music.

Even after all the years in between,

she remains my title song.

From the first note

you want to drive fast on a dirt road,

stay up later than the stars,

turn the volume way up

until it becomes the one

that gets stuck in your head,

remains there all night,

a soundtrack to your dreams,

an alarm clock to your sunrise waking,

a melody of memories on repeat,

choruses of hand-holding,

B-sides of heartbreak,

encores of extended jams.

The one in a million magic

that separates a hit record

from mere background noise.

The special one that ties

the entire album together,

makes it a classic

and when it surprises you on the radio

you smile

and begin

to sing along.
